North American Contractors partners with GAF and Habitat for Humanity of Morgan County to build a home for a local amazing family.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: North American Contractors has partnered with roofing shingle manufacturer GAF to provide labor and materials on the 51st house built for Habitat for Humanity of Morgan County. This home was built for Carl, Amber, Carly & Jack Parks. They personally invested over 500 hours of "sweat equity" and over 20 hours of financial stabilty classes required by Habitat to qualify for this incredible program. A plethora of volunteers and local businesses all worked together by donating time, labor and supplies to make this home possible.
The home dedication ceremony commenced on Sunday, 2/16/2020 and began with an opening prayer lead by Board President, Brian Williams. He stated, " Dear Friends, We have gathered together to seek God's blessing upon this home, which by the favor of God and human labor has been made ready. This home is not only just a dwelling, but a symbol to us of God's loving care and of our life together as the family of Christ."
He continued the blessing and a beautiful hand made quilt was presented to the Park's Family by Tura Lamar.
Our roofing crew was able to install the entire roofing system in one day, and our Production Manager Rob Smith is shown inspecting the roof upon completion.
The home dedication continued to the very best part, the handing over of the keys to the new homeowners. The happiness and excitement felt that moment radiated throughout the home. Amber can bee seen here pridefully showcasing her brand new housekeys. The smile on husband Carl's face shows how incredibly elated they were to receive such a blessing. Their son watches in awe as well.
Not only did this amazing family spend 500 hours in "sweat equity" building their own home, but they've spent countless hours building their neighbors homes as well. The future mortgage payments they will be paying will be reinvested into new homes for new families in need with Habitat for Humanity of Morgan County. We here at North American Contractors feel honored to have been a part of the Parks's journey in building their home and wish them the very best. We look forward to being a part of Habitat for Humanity's future projects and blessings.
