While the insurance company clearly stated they were not going to approve the entire roof, we tried our best to submit documentation and pictures as to why the full roof should be replaced. The insurance company would replace the shingle with a "similar" shingle and that's all they were willing to do. We inspected a home on the southeast side of Indianapolis, where the homeowner noticed some shingles in her front yard, after an evening of high winds. Once we were up on the roof we observed extensive wind damage that resulted in many shingles missing. The amount of shingles missing left the deck exposed. North American Contractors tarped this client's roof in hopes of mitigating the damage in anticipation of another weekend of rain in the forecast. We were able to work along side her insurance company to provide a full roof replacement.
We received a call from a client on the southside of Indianapolis due to her noticing a few missing shingles after a windstorm. She contacted her home insurance agent to advise on if she should file a claim or not. Her State Farm insurance agent recommended she contact us for an inspection to assess the damage first, and see if there was enough to warrant a claim. After inspecting the roof, we found only a few shingles were missing and a small repair was needed. We recommended she not file a claim and relayed that information as well to her insurance agent. We were able to match her existing shingles on and made the repair that week! Another happy customer for North American Contractors.

We received a call from client Michael looking for a solution to his bird nuisance. He was hearing birds in his attic and couldn't figure out how they were entering his home. After doing some investigating it appeared the birds were entering through the ridge vent on his roof. After ensuring the birds had exited the attic, he installed ridge vent plugs to prevent them from re-entry.
Carol of Indianapolis, IN contacted NAC because she noticed a small leak on the interior ceiling of her home. Inspector Mike Griffith checked out the roof and saw three asphalt shingles in a row missing. We were able to perform a temporary repair on the roof and remediate the damage to the interior of the home.
We received a call from a client on the east side of Indianapolis stating that she had a leak in her master bathroom. The ceiling in the shower area had water stains which is typically an indication of a roof leak. Upon inspecting the roof we notice there were many asphalt shingles missing due to a recent windstorm. We advised the client to file a claim with her insurance company. Her inspector, Josh Timm, was able to walk her through the entire claims process and advocated on her behalf with the adjuster. We were able to negotiate with the insurance to have her roof fully covered minus her deductible.
A client on the southside of Indianapolis contacted us to report water spots on their ceiling. Upon inspection, we noted there were multiple water spots on the ceiling that appeared to be coming from their garage area roof. We found enough damage to warrant filing a homeowner's insurance claim to repair the damages. After receiving approval from the insurance company, we were able to replace the entire roof area over the garage. Thus remediating the interior leaks the home sustained from the roof damage.
We inspected a home in Indianapolis that had sustained significant wind damage and interior leak due to a seasonal storm. This home had a specific type of shingle, that we typically won't use due to quality. Paired with an improper racking installation technique, this roof had lost so many shingle that we recommend to the client to file an insurance claim. The homeowner had mentioned they wanted to try and file a claim with the shingle manufacturer first before pursuing a home insurance claim.
Inspector Josh Timm spent about 8 weeks going back and forth with the shingle manufacturer to provide all necessary documents for the claim. Unfortunately they did deny the claim.
A roof replacement quote was provided, and this client decided it in his best interest to go ahead and file the home insurance claim. Josh was able to help advocate with not only the shingle manufacturer but also the home insurance company to ensure that this client's roof was replaced with the only expense being their deductible.
